Client Meeting

My design and my layout is going to be waves, that is because it is the closest theme to a tsunami. My topic is tsunami's, and i have written all about them on my site, i have also added videos, pictures, and games. I would design my site by adding a theme of "waves" so it can show that the site is all about tsunami's. My site has 5 pages, and i want to use these pages the best i can because they are a few and i want to use them wisely, the pages are: Home, tsunami info, pictures, videos, and games. Iweb is working really good, but there are some things it cant do, it would not allow you to add comment boards, and advertisements, and many more cool stuff. The things that are working are, adding images videos and adding pages are easy and nice. So far i do not have a emergency plan, but i will add a section of how to prevent tsunami's and some links attached to it. In each page i have a website that has to do with the category and some information that i wrote.
Here are some screenshots that i took to show you what I'm working o so far

Investigation

  • Which communication forms are synchronous?
  • Which ones are asynchronous?
  • What type of information would be conveyed by each form?
  • What is needed in hardware and software for each?

- There are two synchronous ways, Using the computer, msn messenger, calling. they are similar because messenger is fast because the person is online ( chatting with you live ) and calling is the same thing!
- sending a message ( from a cell phone ) sending a message from the computer ( message ), the cell phone wouldbe faster because the person might not be using his/her computer but their cell phone is mostly going to be with them.
- if you write all the details and information and send iit to a person by mail, which is a slow way, but it would work if the situation is not very bad.
- For hardware people would need a computer/laptop, for software people would need a cell phone.

Investigation

  1. Why is communication so important during an emergency?
  2. What forms of communication have been used during recent disasters e.g Hurricane Katrina, the Tsunami
  3. What essential information needs to be communicated during a disaster or emergency?
  4. What information can be created before the emergency? What information needs to be communicated during the emergency?
  5. What hardware and software is required to be able to communicate online?

- Communication is important during emergencies because you can ask other people for help by sending mail.
- People have been sending mail to other countries around for help and they have informed the newspaper companies about it so everyones knows what is happening and how they can help, they have also called people by using cell phones and radios.
- They should know what is happening and where it's going on, when, and if anyone is hurt, and the fastest way to help these people.
-  I would contact people by saying why i feel something is going to happen, like if there was a tornado coming i would tell people the weather, and i would ask people if they think a tornado is coming so they can help me give reasons and help me contact other people.
- They should have internet connection to talk to people and ask them for help. Some ways they can contact people online is, they can go online on messenger which is the fastest way, they can just send mail, or build a website to inform people.
This is a video people have posted during a Tsunami
